From the Vault: Embodiment is the New Mindfulness
===
[00:00:00] Hi there. It's Casey here. Just popping in quick to let you know that this podcast episode is from the Purpose Map Podcast Vault. So it was recorded in the past and we're bringing it back around to you now, because I don't know, I just have a little sense that it might be relevant to you in this moment.
Right now, of course, these podcast episodes are in essence, timeless. The only thing that might be timely in them when they were first recorded is an offer that was in alignment at that time. So please, if there's any mention of an offer in this episode. Let it go. What we'd love for you to do if you want to take things a step further is actually book a get to know you call with me or a member of our team.
It's really important to us that we know you and know your story and have an opportunity to engage with you. So there's a link in the show notes or a couple links in the show notes for you to book a call with [00:01:00] me or a member of our team. We just love that you're here, so enjoy this episode. I trust that whether it's the first time listening or the 10th time, you'll receive some bit of wisdom that can guide you to acting in alignment with who you really are and what you're really here for.
I so appreciate you being here and can't wait to check in with you at the end. I felt the call to record this episode because tomorrow At the time of this recording, tomorrow, I am embarking on a week long transformational retreat. I will be offline, supported by others, and guided into myself and into my body in a deep, deep way.
And I'm so looking forward to it. It's so important. As a guide in the embodiment space, in the transformational change space, it's so important for me to be [00:02:00] on the receiving end of deep work. I'm constantly doing deep work. And so I'm really looking forward to this week ahead. And to be honest with you, it was my body's wisdom that guided me into this place of saying yes and being supported.
In this episode, what I want to share with you is the deeper why around Like, I guess why I give a shit about embodiment and also why I think embodiment is the new mindfulness and the impact that I think that will have on the world. Now it's kind of funny knowing that I'm going into a deep transformational retreat.
Sometimes I come out the other end of them feeling really different. And so I look back on things that I've said in the past and I'm kind of like, wait, is that still true for me? Is that still true? And I guess that's the name of growth. I have a little [00:03:00] sense that the message that I'm here to share with you today, I will still deeply align with after I come back from this retreat.
So again, I genuinely believe that you deepening your relationship with your body and listening to its wisdom, will not just change you, but it will change the world. Now, I know, I know, some people think that practicing embodiment, or bringing awareness back into the body, is kind of fluffy or ungrounded.
And I understand where these perceptions come from. You know, like, there's been a ton of conditioning that we've been exposed to that makes us not trust our body's wisdom. Or, say, Ooh, I don't know if I can believe that, to our intuitive nudges. There's so much conditioning taking us out of this, like, personal sovereign power.
So what an easy cop out to say [00:04:00] that embodiment is fluffy or ungrounded. I get where those perceptions come from. But they couldn't be further from the truth. Do you remember when mindfulness was new and elusive, even though, ironically? It's always been ancient and potent. Now, I'll be honest, years ago, when I began to bring mindfulness and meditation to my nutrition clients as a dietitian, I had this deep fear, like deep, deep fear, that I was going to get my license taken away for not being quote, evidence based enough, even though mindfulness was completely transforming my clients relationships with food and their bodies.
Well, remember what happened next? Remember how researchers caught on to the immense benefits of mindfulness and meditation? And then before we knew it, some of the world's biggest organizations like Google and Apple were touting its benefits. Now [00:05:00] as a growth oriented person, it would almost be ridiculous to not have at least dabbled in mindfulness or meditation.
Do you know how many meditators there are in the world? And like, what a gift. What a gift that mindfulness and meditation have made it more in the mainstream. Well, my friend, I've got news for you. Embodiment is the new mindfulness. Let me say that again. Embodiment is the new mindfulness. Embodiment is mindfulness turned on itself.
Not only can embodiment support you with healing childhood trauma, whether you believe you have any or not, we've all got some stuff, let me tell you. So, not only can embodiment support you with healing childhood trauma, becoming more emotionally aware and in tune, improving your sex life, helping you with your relationship with food, But it [00:06:00] can also help you up level basically every area, your health, wealth, relationships, and connection to your deeper purpose, if you let it.
Embodiment can radically enhance your leadership capacity, too. You know that I've co authored a book on this. It's coming out in April. Little plug here, I guess, there's an opportunity for that. It's called The Mind Body Way, The Embodied Leader's Path for Resilience, Connection, and Purpose. Co authored with Dr.
Julie Amo. So embodiment can radically enhance your leadership capacity too. You get to experience greater inner fulfillment and more aligned success in every single area of your life through paying attention to your body and letting your body lead. If all you did was practice the embodiment exercise that I share in our new free tool, If your embodiment, no, what's it called, [00:07:00] embodiment for your next level of success.
If all you did was practice that one exercise. Even just like once a week, your life would change. Now, imagine becoming a master of embodiment. Imagine being someone who is so embodied that others comment non stop on how real you are, how authentic, how safe you make them feel to be themselves. Imagine being able to handle and accept any emotion without reacting negatively, but rather offering grace to yourself as that emotion passes through your system.
I'm just pausing for a moment as I reflect on the past couple of weeks that led me to say yes to this retreat. My body is processing something on a somatic level that I cannot articulate with my mind that I don't understand with my mind. There's like a tenderness and [00:08:00] a rawness that I feel in my heart space.
This week, especially, I've had tears at the backs of my eyes that I've been just aware of. When I give myself space and also literally in the last couple of hours, I both had a little nap and also had a beautiful, expansive dance party all within the same hour and I have no explanation for it outside of the fact that I trust that my body needs to do what it needs to do and moving energy, listening to my body, Doing what it's asking is in support of my growth.
So, when I say, imagine being able to handle and accept any emotion without reacting negatively, that's what I'm talking about. It's all about acceptance. Imagine being able to sit with yourself without fear, and to [00:09:00] hold space for others going through challenging experiences without flinching, because of your capacity to care, your capacity to Be resilient.
Do you want to know why I actually give a shit about embodiment? It's because I believe it's one of the best pathways to more acceptance, compassion, and love in the world. And you know what? We're in a crisis of disconnection, depression, and polarization. In other words, fear and scarcity drive a lot of human behavior, and it's ruining us.
Reparation is needed. When we repair our relationships with ourselves and our bodies, peace. Peace. When we stop fighting ourselves, running from ourselves, being scared of ourselves, et cetera, we also repair our relationships with each other. We repair our relationships with the earth. We reconnect with the truth that we are [00:10:00] all one.
When we connect with our bodies, we connect to a like subconscious intelligence. We connect to a consciousness that can inform how we be in the world and specifically inform a way of being that is rooted in the acceptance, compassion, and love that I just spoke of. When we adopt the perception that we are all one, we also adopt an experience of abundance.
And you know what? Everything gets better. If you're open to it, I'd love for you to be part of this greater mission of creating more love in the world by becoming more embodied by you letting your body lead. And you know what? I promise you that your heart centered desires will be magnetized towards you in the process because you get to have more love, money, health, fulfillment than you ever [00:11:00] imagined by building this bigger dream.
And also, hint, hint, by having gratitude for the love, money, health, fulfillment you already have, don't forget to celebrate what you have. I said that last week in last week's episode. Let's do it together. I'm sending you so much love and grace. By the time that you're listening to this, so your now moment, I'll actually have been back from my retreat.
So I'll let you know what awarenesses arose and how all of that landed in my body, if you're curious. If you've not yet tried out our new free tool, embodiment for your next level of success, that is here for you. What I also want you to [00:12:00] know is very soon we are opening the doors for the let your body lead facilitator training.
This is a training for the smart, ambitious, spiritually curious leader who wants to fully embody their integrated self and express their next level purpose. They want to help create epic results for their clients. And of course, more love in the world, and also make money doing this great work, whether in a corporate job or starting your own business through the let your body lead facilitator training.
You'll learn how to weave your unique genius and the skills that you learn in the training together for your ideal clients and package it up in an offer that they will actually want to buy. You'll learn sales skills to get that out into the world because I believe that embodied leaders like you deserve to be well resourced.
Thank you so very much for listening. If you enjoyed this episode and you'd like to [00:13:00] take things a step further, your next step is actually to be in connection with us. I'd love to chat with you and if you'd like to book a call with me or a member of our team, you can do that through checking out the links in the show notes below.
In that call, honestly. We'd love to listen, hear your story, maybe ask a few questions and get to know what's going on for you and what your big vision is and maybe there'll be in a sense of how we as a community might support you. So thank you so much for listening again and I hope that you choose to take that next step.
Can't wait to talk with you soon. Bye for now.
