Casey: [00:00:00] Imagine a world where you have a clear sense of who you really are on a deep level and what you're really here to do, what your purpose is, what your unique contribution to the world is, and then imagine that you're walking through the world and each person that you meet. Has such clarity. They know who they are.
They know what they're here for. What if we celebrated each of our diversity and lived in harmony? Imagine a world with more acceptance, compassion, and love, where we each have a deep connection to the wholeness of our mind, body system. We know how to regulate our nervous systems, tap into the body's wisdom and greet each other with care and kindness connection rather than separation.
Imagine [00:01:00] a world where we were able to uproot our victim consciousness, the ways in which we shame and blame one another and rather. Approach each person, each situation, each even disagreement with a higher level of awareness, one that can hold contradictions. Imagine if we each had access to healing, to support to the people and environments and resources.
That could help us come to a space of self-love. Imagine. Imagine if we were each aligned, if we each let our bodies lead and were in charge of our [00:02:00] own lives, and if we each celebrated each other and our diversity, imagine if we were each well-resourced. In time, energy, money, currency, so that we could live out our life's purpose and share our highest gifts.
Without so much concern, worry, fear, wouldn't it be wonderful. Welcome back to The Purpose Map podcast. This is season two. I am your host, Casey Bergland, the founder of Worthy and. In this season, I really wanna hold this vision for us and invite you to join me on a journey toward it. Whether we get to experience this vision in our lifetimes or not, I don't really actually care.[00:03:00]
It's a worthwhile vision to. I believe that if we each had an opportunity to align with who we really are and what we're really here for, and if we each had an opportunity to heal and evolve, what gets in the way of that, our world would be a better place. This journey that we're going on together, it will help you to claim your next level purpose, become a powerful embodied leader.
And get paid richly for the transformational work you're really here to do. What it's really about is more love in the world. So where do we begin? Any great epic journey begins with a little bit of preparation. We can't just. Dive right in without having the tools, the resources, the support to help us be successful on this journey.[00:04:00]
So I'd like to offer you in this episode, episode one of season two, a few considerations that might guide you. One, how rested are you? Right? Truly be honest with yourself, it's almost impossible to sustain any sort of healing, growth, evolution when the physical system, the physical vessel, is not rested.
You know what I'm talking about, right? For me, I'm a completely different person. If I don't get adequate sleep. You might be some sort of superhero that doesn't need rest, but for me, it's the number one contributor to my capacity to show up in ways that I'm proud of. How rested are you? [00:05:00] What gets in the way of rest for you?
Number two, are you well-nourished?
It's interesting when I reflect on my decade as a registered dietitian. So much of that time was spent moving away from the influences of diet culture and into the land of body acceptance, teaching body acceptance, and teaching about tuning into the body's wisdom and becoming an intuitive. And now I'm finding that there's an integration that's being asked of me where, some folks for sure perceive intuitive eating as letting go of any consideration of nutrition, which is not at all what it is.
I'd like to invite in this question around nourishment, how nourished are. You know, food is [00:06:00] fuel that can support our journey. Food offers so many other beautiful benefits and fuel for our vessels to be strong and resilient. It's really important. We need to be well rested. We need to be fed. We need to be hydrated.
Number three, are you moving your body every day? I know this all might seem like a lot to ask, to sleep, to eat nourishing foods, to move your body, and I'm starting here because your system needs to be strong for your evolution. Are you moving your body in whatever. Walking is medicine, stretching is medicine.
Going to the gym is medicine. Dance is medicine getting out, Nature is medicine. That brings me to number four. [00:07:00] What's your relationship with nature Number five for now, do you have at least one person in your life with whom you can be authentic? With whom you can feel supported and connected. These five elements are foundations for the epic journey that we're about to go on receiving rest, nourishing your body with food,
experiencing movement every day, and hydration getting out into nature. Feeling connected. These five elements will strengthen your vessel, your body, your nervous system, so that you can allow yourself to evolve, so that you can consciously step out of your comfort zone [00:08:00] beyond fear and into an unknown territory.
How open are you? To taking care of your basic.
I invite you to start with this simple self assessment and. No matter how you answer that question, how open are you to meeting your basic needs? I invite you to do so without judgment, with compassion. It's completely natural in the world we live in for our basic needs to not be met, for us to not know how or not feel safe to experience rest, to have a.
Confusing and fuzzy relationship with food that keeps us from receiving the nourishment that our bodies truly desire. It's completely natural to not have adequate time in nature. [00:09:00] It's completely natural to feel isolated and alone and to feel like those spaces and places that feel safe to be yourself are limited.
If that's true for you, meet yourself with a type of grace and compassion and know that through this podcast, through worthy and well through the communities that we create together, that we will stand for this type of support, this base level of nourishment, so that you can journey into your next level.
